Mona teaches, through the body, how to evolve emotionally and spiritually. She uses the ancient practices of yoga, seen through a modern lens, to create opportunities for students to know themselves as they are and open into an inherent ease of being. Her teaching balances right effort and effortlessness through an integration of biomechanic principles in asana practice, breath focus and the recognition of the profound stillness underlying all movement. Mona synthesizes knowledge of yoga, weaves in personal perspectives and creates a cohesive and integrated whole experience for students.
Mona has been immersed in yoga since 1996 and teaching it since 1997. Her foundational asana teachers have been in the Iyengar tradition and she has complimented that understanding through study with teachers of the Ashtanga, Anusara and modern vinyasa methods. She studies yoga philosophy with contemporary Tantrik scholars.
